Refreshing the Basics
For this week, take your time reviewing the basics of bow hold and bow arm mechanics. This is your focus so spend a lot of your practice time experimenting and getting comfortable with the bow again. Try not to use sheet music. Use this time observe and experiment. Trust me, it will pay off!
For the left hand, we'll play some tetrachords for a warm-up and review some songs by ear. While it's tempting to use the bow, play these songs just pizzicato so you can focus on the left hand.

Bowing Nitty Gritty
Resist the urge to pick up some sheet music! Don't worry, I'll keep you busy.
For this week, keep focusing on the bow. We're also going to add scales and arpeggios by ear. Once you understand the basic arpeggio pattern, see how many songs you can pick out by ear. (So many songs revolve around the first few arpeggio notes!)
